DOG BOARDING, GROOMING & DAY CAMP IN PIEDMONT, SC

The Pet Resort Greenville SC Families Have Trusted Since 1996

We do it for Darby. We do it for Dexter. We do it for every dog that walks through our doors. Pupstate Pet Resort has been the boarding and grooming home of Piedmont, SC since 1996 and it all started with one greyhound and an owner who refused to settle for less.

Darby was a retired racing greyhound adopted at the 1998 Anderson County Fair. Dan connected with him immediately and within days Darby was home. When work travel picked up, Dan set out to find a boarding facility he could actually trust. He had a map, a list of every place in the area advertising dog boarding, and high standards. After visiting nearly ten facilities across the Upstate and leaving disappointed every single time, he finally walked into a place in Piedmont called Man’s Best Friend. It was clean, well lit, and staffed by people who clearly loved what they did. Owner Tom Hill had built something special. Dan had his moment. He’d found his place.

For the next 25 years Dan was a loyal customer. When Tom was ready to retire in 2023 and Dan was ready for a new challenge after a long corporate career, it was a natural fit. Dan didn’t just buy a boarding facility. He took over a place he had trusted with his own dogs for decades and made it his mission to take it further.

That’s how Pupstate Pet Resort was born. And that’s exactly why we hold ourselves to the standard we do.

So, with 25 years’ worth of experience as a customer of the resort, Dan set out as its new owner to lead it into its next chapter as Pupstate Pet Resort, the best boarding and grooming facility possible, right here in the upstate.
